Where did 'Odangputik' come from?
In 2014, Odangputik was a nickname given to Ianna Oda Engaño by Prof. Cesar Hernando during her college years in the University of the Philippines Diliman. Since her professor was a notable director in the Philippine film industry and Oda was raised in the province of Cavite, this nickname was derived from a movie released in the 1980s -- 'Nardong Putik (Kilabot Ng Cavite)'
What do we offer?
Odangputik Art Studio, commonly known as Odangputik Pottery, provides two-three hour pottery experience sessions for the curious minds wondering how it feels like to create a ceramic piece or work on a pottery wheel. Participants can opt to schedule a private session or reserve a slot for group pottery events.

But for people determined to practice the art and discipline of pottery-making as they try their best to live their lives, we also offer full course programs for basic hand building, basic wheel-throwing, advanced hand building, and advanced wheel-throwing techniques - collectively named as The Hinabi Complete Ceramic Program (CCP). It usually takes a minimum of eight days or eight sessions to complete a single module or technique. Enrollees will be given the authority to choose their own class schedules without waiting for a minimum number of enrollees.

To pass on the advocacy to propagate collaborative art communities and merging traditional Philippine pottery with contemporary practices and technological advancements, our internship program is also open for art students, artists, and artisans in exchange for a free pottery training which is not limited solely to pottery techniques, but it will also include lectures on sustainability, securing a career in the art industry, and art space management.
Who is Odangputik today?
In 2020, Ianna Oda Engaño partnered with Lin Bajala to create a digital platform where they can increase visibility for the art of ceramic-making in the Philippines.

By June 2023, founders, Lin and Oda, decided to open a physical studio in Quezon City with the hopes of providing a more accessible and inclusive art studio "for the people" and for rebuilding human connections --- forgotten during the height of the pandemic. Together, they continue to lead and execute the studio's mission and vision to establish a progressive community-based art programs in the Philippines through pottery art and other art forms.

Odangputik Art Studio, commonly known as Odangputik Pottery, stays committed to its mission and vision by prioritizing the studio's sustainability through pottery experience sessions. This will be an experience aiming for attendees to forget their fast-paced world for a moment.
